1 / In the silence of the night
In the silence of the night
A cry resounded
Breaking the fullness
Of my sleeping dreams
In the silence of the night
The cry resounded
Of that Kurdish mother
Before the body of her battered child
In the silence of the night
The cries resounded
Of decimated soldiers
By the blazing wheat fields
In the silence of the night
I heard the cry
Of our Mother Earth
Broken before so much misery
In the silence of our nights
Will we hear the cries
Of our poet brothers
So that these useless conquests cease
In the silence of the night
A single cry burst forth
From hundreds of countries
To respect Life.
2 / In my sky today
A few gray clouds
Resonating with the clamor
Of this world that sinks
A little deeper into torpor
My journey continues
Always these gray clouds
From the noise of the city
To the green plains
The landscapes parade
My thoughts escape
The vision of grenades returns to me
In the hands of innocents
Their war song
In the name of God resounding
I followed with a tight heart
The flight of the storks
Carrying the souls of babies
By bombs and hunger
Torn from their mothers
I was almost there
When the sky changed
From the window of the train that carried me
I saw a flight of swallows pass
Carrying a message of Peace
3 / There are places
Where the ochres of our autumns
Are burns of the Sun
That split the Earth
And dry the airs
In this arid landscape
It sometimes happens
That we see crawling
Vines of peas
When the sky is kinder
And pours onto the plains
Pearls of white gold
From the depths of the Earth
Push towards the sky
Petals of a thousand colors
